Founder of Large Catholic Broadcaster "Excommunicated" for Criticizing Pope

Jose Galat, Founder, President and Director of Teleamiga, one of the largest Catholic broadcasters, has been
declared "excommunicated" because of his criticism of the pope and declaration of latae sententiae excommunication.
(Bogota) In the coming September, a visit to Pope Francis is planned in Colombia, which is casting its shadows. A few days ago there was a serious conflict between the Colombian Bishops' Conference and one of the largest Catholic television channels. At the center of the conflict is a well-known researcher and media entrepreneur who has hitherto been regarded as a faithful Catholic - with a "defect": he dares criticize the office of Pope Francis and even accuses him of not being the "legitimate" successor of Peter, "because he is denying truths of the Faith." The bishop's conference declared him a few days ago to be a "schismatic" and de facto excommunicated.

José Galat: Presidential Consultant, Consul General, University Rector

José Galat Noumer is a well-known man not only in Colombia, but throughout the Spanish-speaking world. He was born in 1928 in Sagomaso (then Diocese of Tunja), a region that is nowadays known for its cyclists. He studied Law in Colombia, Political Science and Sociology in Paris and Philosophy in Barcelona. In Colombia, he was initially active within the framework of the International Association of Christian Entrepreneurs (UNIAPAC). In his working life, he devoted himself not only the social sciences, but also to the establishment of educational institutions and the cooperative system. From 1966-1974 he was a consultant to Colombian President Carlos Lleras Restrepo and Misael Pastrana Borrero, a member of the Colombian People's Bank, and in the 1970s, he was also a Colombian Consul General in Paris.

José Galat, former university professor

In 1951 he was given the first assistant position, followed by lectures and professorships at various universities in Colombia. From 1981 to July 17, 2017 he was rector of the University of La Gran Columbia. In this function, too, a special emphasis was laid on the promotion of the cooperative system, which, on the basis of the Catholic social doctrine, he regarded as a particularly suitable instrument for the promotion of the economy, independence and human dignity. More than 250,000 people are now employed in the cooperatives established and supported by the company.
Galat has published 22 books dealing primarily with Colombia, economic questions, cooperative society, but also theological and philosophical issues.

Teleamiga - Catholic television station with millions of viewers

At an early stage, he has dealt with mass communications. In the 1970s, he developed the idea of a weekly broadcasting of the country's president. In 1999, he and his friend Diego Arango Osorio founded Teleamiga , which is now available in HD quality in Colombian cities via cable, otherwise via satellite in all Latin America, the USA, Europe and North Africa. The aim of the two founders was to create, besides the state and private radio broadcasting, a broadcaster devoted to the value and not to commerce. The station belongs to a non-profit foundation of the University of La Gran Columbia, whose president is Galat.
In 2010, he applied to be nominated as a Presidential candidate for the Conservative Party of Colombia. As such, he wanted to succeed Alvaro Uribe, the "vanquisher of the FARC", who was not allowed to stand for two term periods. The party, however, opted for another candidate.
Galat, now 88 years old, still makes the weekly program "Un Cafe de Galat," which, according to the ratings, is one of the most watched TV shows on Teleamiga .

Papal Criticism and Colombian Bishops

Criticism of the Pope is a delicate matter in the Church. The historian Roberto de Mattei, in his recent book, "Defense of Tradition", points out that papal infallibility defined in 1870 by the First Vatican Council, is not only misunderstood by opponents of the Church, but is misunderstood by Catholics themselves.

Teleamiga, broadcasting since 1999

There are specific factors that come into play in Colombia. In the autumn, the country's bishops' conference and Pope Francis delivered a variety of recommendations in the referendum on the peace plan of President Santos. While the pope was for the peace plan with the Marxist guerrilla organization FARC, this was rejected by the bishops. The majority of the Colombian voters followed the bishops. The FARC had bled the country dry for half a century. Many Colombians do not see why, as they are defeated, that they should be politically revalued and recognized as negotiating partners.
Pope Francis coupled his visit to Colombia to the outcome of popular vote. It took more patient talks to resolve the disagreements in connection, so that the Pope's visit can nevertheless be held with some delay.

"Constant criticism of Pope Francis"

The bishops are therefore not interested in any "disturbances" of ecclesial peace. This is one of the reasons for the sharp reaction that has taken place over the past few days for a Catholic personality so celebrated in the past as Professor Jose Galat.
Galat is an energetic man, as his CV proves. But he is also a man of clear language. The contradictions in the pontificate of Pope Francis, he does not conceal. Criticism was exercised by Galat mainly in connection with the family synod and the controversial post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia. At the same time, the second episcopal synod coinciding with revelations about Cardinal Danneels had decisively altered Galat's attitude. His critics speak of an "increasing radicalization."
Galat's television station reaches up to 50 million viewers, according to InfoVaticana. This is a media power which is not ignored, either by the bishops or by Rome.
In February 2016, the Colombian Bishops' Conference spoke for the first time in a statement about the "trouble" concerning the "constant criticism" by José Galat "upon the person of Pope Francis." The bishops had been alarmed by the news of Teleamiga that "a group of bishops were against Pope Francis." This assertion was "decidedly rejected" and the "unanimous communion with the Holy Father" was emphasized.
In the same month there was an exchange of views between representatives of the Episcopal Conference and the Directorate of Teleamiga, including Galat.

Suspension "A Divinis" of the "First Martyr of Amoris Laetitia" Lifted

Supsension Against Don Uribe Lifted.  Did Bishop Corredor do this after reading Cardinal Schönborn's heretical interpretation?
(Bogota) Don Luis Carlos Uribe Medina, the priest of the Colombian diocese of Pereira, was reinstated by the bishop in his office. Don Uribe has become the "first martyr of Amoris laetitia."
Because of his criticism of Amoris laetitia and his pastoral implementation was characterized as an attack against the indissolubility of sacramental marriage the priest had been treated by his bishop as a heretic and schismatic. He had "apparently" had detached himself from "communion with the Pope", so he was suspended by his bishop a divinis suspended .
Don Uribe's suspension from the priesthood attracted worldwide attention because he had not committed any fault, except to defend the past [and immemorial] doctrine and practice of the Catholic Church.

Don Uribe statement

The sensation seems to have produced an effect. On January 31, Bishop Rigoberto Corredor Bermudez, diocesan bishop of Pereira, reinstated Don Uribe in his priestly power. For this, the Bishop and Don Uribe signed a joint statement. Therein it is explained that Don Uribe, after a "fraternal conversation" with the bishop, has declared of his "free will" that he would "remain obedient and respectful towards the Holy Father Francis and my diocesan bishop in the Apostolic teaching and tradition of the Church."
With "permission of my diocesan bishop, I resume my priestly service from today, January 31, 2017".
An image of the original document signed by Don Uribe and Bishop Corredor about reintegration into the diocesan clergy was published by Secretum meum mihi with the explanation that Don Uribe finally confirmed only what he had said anyway.
As Radio Rosa Mistica Colombia reported, Bishop Corredor had corrected his penalty after he had come to a full understanding of Don Uribe's statements. Specifically, the radio station, points to the Amoris-laetitia -Interpretation of Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of 8 April 2016. Pope Francis had a few days later referred to "the Schönborn-statements as the authentic interpretation" of the controversial post-synodal letter.
Don Uribe had criticized and rejected Schönborn's interpretation. He also criticized Pope Francis, because the latter had described Schönborn interpretation as "authentic" and thus made his own.
After Bishop Corredor had read the Schönborn-text, he had changed his mind about Don Uribe and withdrew the sanction, says Radio Maria Mistica Colombia. The station cites its own source which remains unnamed.

Catholic Pastor Practices Santaria and Exploits "Boyfriend" for Decades?

(Bogota) W Radio Colombia , a radio station in the Spanish media group Prisa ( El Pais, Spanish edition of the Huffington Post ) yesterday reported on the double life from the "Homo-Idyll". The 42 year old Julio César Cardona reported in detail during the interview that for years he has maintained a homosexual [aberrosexual] relationship with a Catholic priest.
For over 20 years he and the priest José Elías Lopera Cárdenas, pastor of Santa Maria de los Angeles, have lived together as a couple in the Archdiocese of Medellin in Colombia. The relationship was "secret", but Cardona's family, friends and other priests are said to have known about them.
After 20 Years and severely burned by "gay pastor" he is shown the door?
Cardona has now gone public, because the pastor showed him the door, to live with another man.
Pastor Lopera seems, according to Cardona's description, to have grown tired and now wants  more youthful sexual playmates. Cardona feels he is being treated unfairly, financially. In a radio interview, he announced that it was his wish  to demand a "bonus" for a "love affair" of  more than 20 years.
Lopera was chaplain at the college, to which Cardona had come when he was 16 years old. There they met each other and had become a "couple".

Special sex games in which Cardona was seriously injured?

The two seem to have preferred special sex games. In one of these "games," a Santeria ritual, an "accident" happened in 2012. Lopera had covered Lopera with a lot of alcohol. It took light and inflicted severe burn injuries. According to W Radio, 40 percent of his skin was affected.
This "blemish" on his body was the reason that Lopera had lost interest in his sex companion and sought at length new partners.
Santeria is a syncretic religion of African animism with Catholic elements, which evolved among the slaves deported to America. It is rejected by the Catholic Church, but pastor Lopera seems to have, besides  to his sexual vices, issues with the faith. In the diocese he is, says Cardona,   "respectable."
Cardona announced that his lawyer had sent a claim for more than 150 million Colombian pesos (approximately 42,000 euros) to Pastor Lopera. These were also brought to the diocesan leadership and the Apostolic Nuncio.
Cardena disclaims moral charges against the pastor or the Church. He just wants money. Pastor Lopera has apparently funded him to study, covered his credit card and gave him a monthly eight million Colombian pesos (about 2,200 euros). With this money Cardona has given his family financial support, which is now also missing this money.
As Cardona announced in the interview,  he is the father of a 20 year old daughter who studies medicine in Medellin. She had sprung from a relationship with a staff member in a rectory.
The interviewer asked where the pastor had so much money to so luxuriously  sponsor Cardona and to pay him the "compensation" now demanded. Cardona explained that Pastor Lopera was highly regarded and receives many donations and contributions, even from the business world. He financed his sexual companions with the parish donations.  The news site KienyKe recalled rumors in the past, according to which pastors Lopera did maintain good contacts with the Drug Lord Pablo Escobar Gaviria and the question of whether he could have anything to do with "the money,"  which the priest had nonetheless gladly received.

Everything a question of money, not of morality?

In other words, if there is a satisfactory financial settlement from the "lover", he will be silent  and "the illustrious priest can resume his usual double life," so says Secretum meum mihi .  Cardona showed  no doubts about the homosexual relationship during the interview, which he explains with uncritical self-awareness and total moral indifference. The case seems to be settled in the gray zone for prostitution. Anyway, gold plays a central role in the whole matter, especially since Cardona does not even seem to be homosexual.
The radio hosts did not attempt to exploit the story  for the debate  which is taking place in Colombia  on the legalization of "gay marriage". The damage to the Church and its rejection of "gay marriage" has created all by itself  the impression of hypocrisy. It's a negative example, which can be availed by critics of the Church  and homosexual [gender ideology] activists.
The interview with Cardona aired on Tuesday. So far, no reactions of diocesan leadership of Medellin have become known.
W Radio explained that they had  also invited Pastor Lopera  to the show, but did not receive a response. The station was even in contact with the diocesan management. They did not want to make any public comment before they had  "closely examined" the case. "You will now listen closely to this program, and then probably to take a position," said Julio Sanchez Cristo, the presenter of W Radio toward Diocese.
Cardona's complaint aired openly  against Lopera could lead to extensive criminal investigations, "including abuse of parish funds, illegal enrichment, pedophilia, deliberate bodily injury. In addition are still investigations that fall under Church law," said KienyKe .

State Council of Colombia Abolitions Abortion Decree -- No Law Exists

(Bogota) The State Council of Colombia has repealed the government decree, with which the killing of unborn children by abortion had been done with impunity. By the Decree 4444 of 2006, the President allowed infanticide in exceptional cases, which had been addressed by the Constitutional Court in a judgment of the same year: in the risk to the mother's life, and in malformation of the fetus, during pregnancy due to rape. Already in 2009 the decree was suspended.

The State Council did not address the decision of the Constitutional Court for decriminalization of abortion in exceptional cases. That he would not. But he lifted the presidential decree on the grounds that to solve the issue a properly concluded gekommenes state law is indispensable.

Only when a law exists, may the Government dissolve them with corresponding decrees, the State Council said.

Yesterday He Was For Slaughtering Children -- Today He's a Cardinal

Mons. Rubén Salazar Gómez
© JuanCardozo, Wikipedia, CC
An Archbishop Without Scruples

The Archbishop of Bogota recently defended slaughtering children.  With pressure from the Vatican, he gave in.  What he really thinks is no matter.  The main thing is that his career goes on.

(, Bogota)  Today the Old Liberal Archbishop Jesús Rubén Salazar Gómez (70) of Bogota has been named to Cardinal.

Until a week ago he defended -- against Catholic morality and the natural law -- the murder of unborn children,  in so far as it is allowed by Colombian law.

Since 2006, the murder of children has been allowed in three cases, with danger to the life of the mother, in cases of severe handicap of the child and in cases of rape and incest.

Currently, the parliament is debating over the expansion of the murder of unborn children.

A Clear Yes for the Murder of Children

On November 13th the up and coming Prelate and President of the Bishops Conference, defending child slaughter for the Colombian newspaper 'El Tiempo'.

He formulated a clear "yes to the decriminalization of abortion in these three cases, which Colombian law allows."

Catholic pro-Life organizations have unleashed a storm against the Archbishop.

One Man, One Word

Finally the Vatican took action with a fig leaf action.

The Secretary of State demanded a correction from the Scandal-Archbishop.  Thereupon, he sent a correct statement.

The murder of children is "a horrible crime" -- wrote Msgr. Salazar suddenly:  a decriminalization is never acceptable.

The Good Shepherd Institute Establishes Itself in Colombia

Edit: Now for something completely different: good news.  The Good Shepherd Institute has been approved for war-torn and besieged Colombia.

Good news. The Good Shephed Institute (GSI or IBP in Spanish) has recently been allowed to set up a public apostolate in Bogota.  They were also allowed to have a TLM in the Basilica.  To my knowledge, outside of Campos, this is the first official TLM at a major Church/Basilica in South America in the last 30-40 years or so.  Here are some pictures of the TLM.
